MyFax is a long-running online fax service from Consensus Cloud Solutions, the company behind eFax. It is a classic monthly plan: a page allowance for sending and receiving, and email-to-fax. Faxio sells faxes one at a time, with no account and no subscription unless you deliberately choose one.
If you send and receive faxes every month, MyFax is a reasonable choice. If you landed on it because you needed to send one form, a monthly plan is probably more than you need. This comparison uses MyFax's published pricing as of October 2026.

We make Faxio, so read our column with that in mind. MyFax's real advantages are visible here: receiving is built into every plan, it works from email, and its annual price is modest for a service that does both directions.
How the pricing models differ
MyFax charges a monthly fee for a page allowance in both directions. The Home Office User plan includes 100 pages out and 100 in for $12 a month, or $8.25 a month on annual billing. Small Business User doubles and triples that, and Power User reaches 600 pages each way. Each additional page within the US costs $0.10. MyFax states there are no setup fees and no long-term contracts. At the time of writing, its pricing page also shows a promotional "$5 for your 1st month" offer on Home Office User alongside the 14-day trial.
Faxio charges per fax. A single fax is $2.99 for up to 10 pages; 5 credits cost $9.99, 15 cost $24.99. Credits never expire, and buying them never creates a subscription. If a fax fails, the credit is not consumed. The only recurring option is Faxio Unlimited at $14.99 a month, which you have to choose explicitly and can cancel in one click.
The difference: MyFax charges for the month; Faxio charges for the fax.
What a year actually costs
| How often you fax | Faxio | MyFax Home Office (monthly) | MyFax Home Office (annual) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Twice a year | ~$6 | ~$144 if kept active | ~$99 |
| Once a month | ~$24–36 | ~$144 | ~$99 |
| Weekly, send only | ~$87 with 15-packs | ~$144 | ~$99 |
| Weekly, send + receive | Unlimited $14.99/mo; receiving via Android app | ~$144 | ~$99 |
For people who fax a few times a year, the difference is roughly a hundred dollars or more. At weekly volume — especially if you also receive — MyFax's annual plan becomes competitive, and built-in receiving is a genuine benefit.
Where MyFax is the better choice
- You need to receive faxes regularly. Every plan includes inbound pages for receiving. Faxio's receiving is only available in its Android app.
- You work from email. MyFax is built around email-to-fax and fax-to-email; Faxio's website is an upload-and-send flow.
- Steady volume. At 100 pages each way for $8.25 a month on annual billing, MyFax is good value if you use the allowance.
- Multiple platforms. MyFax offers mobile apps and a web portal. Faxio has no iOS app.
- A local or international fax number. MyFax advertises local, toll-free and international numbers, and number porting.
Where Faxio is the better choice
- One fax, today. No account, no trial, nothing to remember to cancel. Upload a PDF at faxio.app/send, enter the number, pay $2.99.
- Occasional sending. A few faxes a year cost a few dollars, and unused credits never expire.
- No trial-to-subscription conversion. A Faxio purchase is a one-time payment. There is no trial period that rolls into a plan.
- Failed faxes cost nothing. If the fax does not go through, the credit is not used, and busy lines are retried automatically — see why faxes fail.
- Unpredictable weekly volume. Faxio Unlimited at $14.99/month has no page allowance to track.
Already on MyFax? How to cancel
According to MyFax's own help page as of October 2026:
- Download your faxes first. Once the account closes, stored faxes are no longer accessible.
- Log in to MyFax Central.
- Open Account Details, then click the Billing tab.
- Select "Cancel My Account."
- Watch for the confirmation email with a cancellation number.
The account closes at the end of the current billing cycle; cancelling during a free trial closes it immediately. Any outstanding balance must be settled first, and if the cancel option does not appear, MyFax directs you to customer support by chat or email. Accounts bought through Apple's App Store are cancelled through Apple. MyFax also notes that if you sign up again later, your old number may not be available.
The process is almost identical to eFax's, since both are run by the same company — our eFax cancellation guide covers the exceptions in more detail.
Which should you pick
- You need to send a single document: Faxio — $2.99, no account.

- You are on iPhone and only need to send: Faxio in Safari — see how to fax from an iPhone.
- You need a permanent number for clients to fax you: MyFax, or the Faxio Android app if you are on Android.
If a trial or a monthly plan is more than this job needs, send one fax for $2.99 →

Frequently asked questions
How much does MyFax cost?
As of October 2026, MyFax's Home Office User plan is $12 a month (or $8.25 a month billed annually) for 100 pages sent and 100 received. Small Business User is $25 a month for 300 each way, and Power User is $45 a month for 600 each way. Extra pages within the US are $0.10 each.
Does MyFax have a free trial?
MyFax advertises a 14-day free trial on its Home Office User plan as of October 2026. Its pricing page also shows an introductory offer of $5 for the first month. Check which offer applies at checkout and when regular billing begins.
Is Faxio cheaper than MyFax?
For occasional sending, yes. A single Faxio fax is $2.99 with no monthly fee, while MyFax's cheapest plan is $12 a month. If you send fewer than about four faxes a month and do not need to receive, pay-per-fax costs less. If you send and receive regularly, MyFax's two-way page allowance can be better value.
How do I cancel MyFax?
MyFax's help page says to log in to MyFax Central, open Account Details, click the Billing tab, and select Cancel My Account. The account closes at the end of the billing cycle, and you lose access to stored faxes, so download anything you need first.
Can I receive faxes with Faxio like with MyFax?
MyFax plans include inbound pages for receiving. Faxio offers a dedicated receiving number through its Android app; the Faxio website is for sending only.
